Student #3

This student is a high schooler with a passion for STEM. Each summer, his organization STEM Powering teaches kids in grades K-8 about STEM principles, including 3D modeling, electronic engineering, and computer programming.

Having had 50 kids attend the program over the summer of 2025, he realized the relevance of technical education for elementary and middle schoolers, but he also recognized the lack of opportunity for it within his school system. Civic Connections has helped this student take the first steps towards implementing STEM education at a local middle school by reaching out to its principal and curriculum director.

Civic Connections is continuing to work with the student to refine an implementation plan, which they will present to school administrators, to bring STEM Powering’s agenda to the district.
